About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, enhance, test, and maintain Java applications, RESTful services, frontend components, and related system integrations
Develop and maintain Java-based applications and systems
Contribute to frontend and full-stack web application development
Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and testable code
Collaborate with cross-functional teams through Agile meetings, requirement discussions, technical design sessions, code reviews, and delivery planning
Design, develop, and integrate RESTful web services
Work with relational databases and SQL
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to industry and project standards
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues
Contribute to technical design discussions and application architecture decisions
Support application testing, deployment, maintenance, production issue resolution, and releases
Improve code quality, application performance, maintainability, security, and delivery efficiency
Stay current with Java, Java EE, web development, and related technologies
Consider security, scalability, operational efficiency, and sustainability in solution design and implementation
Make implementation decisions within established technical standards, escalate risks, recommend improvements, document changes, and support application maintenance

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 5+ years of experience in Java software development
Strong knowledge of Java and the Java EE platform
Experience using Java 8 or later and current supported Java versions
Experience with Spring, Hibernate, or JSF
Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
Understanding of RESTful web services and API integration
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
Experience with Git or equivalent version control systems
Experience across software design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and production support
Ability to write clean, maintainable, scalable, and testable code
Experience participating in code reviews and applying software development standards
Experience debugging and resolving complex technical issues
Working knowledge of cloud computing concepts and infrastructure
Understanding of cloud deployment, scalability, availability, monitoring, and configuration
Understanding of object-oriented programming, Java collections, exception handling, multithreading, data structures, and algorithms
Strong understanding of SQL, data modeling, database integration, transactions, indexing, and database performance
Experience with unit and integration testing
Understanding of secure software development, authentication, authorization, access controls, encryption, and secure data handling
Ability to identify and address common web application security risks
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered
Certifications in Java, cloud computing, Agile, software architecture, or related technologies are preferred but not mandatory unless required for a project
Complete Synechron-required training on information security, data protection, software development standards, and responsible technology use
