About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Playwright, WebdriverIO, Selenium, and related tools.
  • Perform functional, regression, API, and database testing.
  • Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts, identify root causes, and collaborate with development teams on resolutions.
  • Review and improve test cases and automation frameworks according to industry best practices.
  • Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and related tools.
  • Collaborate with QA, Development, and Product teams within Agile frameworks.
  • Track, report, and manage software defects with clear documentation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Stay updated on automation trends and propose process enhancements.
  • Write and execute automated test cases across various testing types.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and automation frameworks.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 6-9 years in automation testing with a proven track record of developing and executing automation frameworks.
  • Strong experience with Selenium and Java, including test script development and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing and database validation.
  • Prior experience working within Agile/Scrum environments and participating in sprint cycles.
  • Exposure to front-end and back-end testing processes.
  • Alternative pathways include extensive hands-on testing experience combined with certifications in automation tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Required proficiency in Selenium, preferably Java-based.
  • Strong expertise in Playwright.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain WebdriverIO automation scripts.
  • Hands-on experience with Postman or REST Assured for API validation.
  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Maven.
  • Effective defect tracking and test management using JIRA.
  • Required programming knowledge: Java and JavaScript.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases for data validation and backend testing.
  • Familiarity with AWS or Azure is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, WebdriverIO, TestNG, REST Assured, JUnit, Git, Jenkins, and Maven.
  • Awareness of secure coding and testing practices is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Relevant certifications such as ISTQB or Selenium Certification are preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in automation testing tools and techniques.
