About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Draft and update contract frameworks and templates for digital distribution agreements, licensing arrangements, and custom client and partner deals
- Review, redline, and help negotiate agreements, escalating novel or high-risk issues to the Director
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to incorporate business needs into contractual terms
- Manage legal workflows and contract lifecycle updates using project management tools
- Track contract project status and provide timely updates to the Director and relevant teams
- Conduct entity verification, KYC/KYB diligence, sanctions/PEP screening, and identity verification
- Assist Legal and Finance with deal diligence and advise on contracting parties, rightsholdership, client history, and account information
- Support legal and operational initiatives, research, documentation, and compliance projects
- Ensure consistency in legal language and formatting across documents
- Maintain records of templates, revisions, and executed documents
- Research trends and emerging law related to operations, contracting, copyright, improper activity, and other legal matters
- Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding legal policies, processes, and procedures
- Provide support on escalated legal matters
- Brief the Director regularly on contracting activities
- Complete other projects identified by the Business and Legal Affairs Team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Three years of post-graduate experience in business and legal affairs, contracts, or a transactional environment
- Proficiency with Monday.com, Dropbox, Google Workspace, HubSpot, and similar contract, project, and business management platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Self-motivated and proactive, with ownership and initiative
- Ability to receive feedback, adapt quickly, and take increasing ownership of projects
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed team in a remote work environment
- High ethical standards and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information
- Candidates must be current residents of Florida
- J.D. or Paralegal Certificate with relevant experience, music/entertainment/technology industry experience, music licensing and copyright familiarity, and Spanish and/or Portuguese proficiency are advantages, not requirements
