About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build user-facing features end to end, including React frontends, Node.js services, BFF layers, data stores, and third-party API integrations
Own technical direction, break down ambiguous problems into shippable increments, and make architecture decisions
Partner with Product Managers and Designers to challenge requirements and shape scope
Support reliable databases and APIs for real-time automated decision-making
Deploy software using Kubernetes clusters, Lambda functions, and industry-standard tooling
Investigate and resolve production issues by analyzing code, data, and system behavior
Improve security practices and protect users’ data
Implement automated tests across the test pyramid
Mentor mid-level engineers, provide code review feedback, and support engineers across the stack
Own project outcomes and contribute creatively to product development
Develop technical skills and learn about technology business in the US

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 5 years of hands-on commercial experience building web applications
Deep experience with React, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
Experience designing and shipping production services
Knowledge of API design, microservices, and system design patterns
Practical knowledge of at least one relational database system, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server
Experience implementing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
Ability to lead software design and architecture discussions and explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences
Responsibility, accountability, and ownership in delivering high-quality work
Effective security practices
Experience improving other engineers through code review, pairing, and mentoring
Readiness to learn and expand skill set
Good command of English, written and spoken
Availability to work across time zones; occasional evening meetings may be necessary, on average 2 days per week
