About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the Post Production Pipeline
  • Lead the Editing Team & Freelance Flexforce
  • Define What Great B2B Video Looks Like
  • Post Production Coordination - Own the Master Production Workflow — tracking every active project through intake, edit, review, revision, and delivery across a high-volume client roster
  • Build and enforce file structure, naming conventions, and archiving standards across all productions
  • Serve as the post-production point of contact for producers — translating project needs into clear editorial direction
  • Assign, direct, and give meaningful creative feedback to internal editors and a curated bench of freelance editors across simultaneous productions
  • Set and uphold editorial standards — polished timelines, clean sequencing, proper pacing, and airtight asset delivery
  • Review and quality-check edits before they reach clients — your sign-off means it's ready
  • Identify gaps in the freelance bench and help source, evaluate, and onboard new freelance talent when needed
  • Contribute to editor development — share technique, give directed notes, and help build a team that raises its own ceiling
  • Edit across Sweet Fish's full video type roster: brand films, commercial spots, thought leadership videos, testimonials, case studies, social shorts, podcast video, product demos, event recaps, and even AI social content
  • Drive storytelling decisions — structure narratives that are emotionally resonant, not just informationally competent
  • Lead motion graphics involvement: create or art-direct graphic assets, lower thirds, kinetic type, and branded visual elements that feel intentional, not templated
  • Push client work creatively — bring visual references, push edits past the first cut, and advocate for the version that's actually good
  • Help develop and document Sweet Fish's editorial style standards as we expand into new video formats and categories.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of professional editing experience with a portfolio that demonstrates range — B2B, branded content, agency work and A.I. video expertise strongly preferred
  • Expert-level Premiere Pro and After Effects; comfortable across DaVinci Resolve, Frame.io, Descript, and AI video generation and editing tools
  • A genuine understanding of storytelling structure — you know why a cut works, not just how to make it
  • Experience leading or directing other editors, whether in-house or freelance
  • Strong motion graphics sensibility — you can build clean, polished assets and know when design serves the story vs. distracts from it
  • High operational bandwidth — you can hold the creative and the logistical at the same time, without letting either slip
  • A reel that makes us stop scrolling.

Benefits

Comp & perks
  • 15 days PTO + 15 days of paid company holidays
  • 4% 401k match after 90 days
  • health insurance option
