About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, assess, and troubleshoot software applications in an Agile environment
Collaborate with architects, customers, product partners, and engineers to solve complex engineering challenges
Build high-volume applications processing millions of transactions daily, storing terabytes of data, and serving hundreds of thousands of customers
Estimate work, refine requirements, iterate on designs, deliver working software, communicate with partner teams, and support critical applications
Lead or participate in design and code reviews
Create and maintain automated tests and validate acceptance criteria
Monitor production systems to identify defects, incidents, and improvement opportunities
Apply shift-left quality practices to improve feedback loops, reduce rework, prevent defects, and ensure secure, reliable, observable, maintainable, production-ready software
Share application development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, security, data privacy, and Agile best practices
Use approved AI-assisted development tools across design, implementation, testing, debugging, analysis, and documentation
Review AI-assisted output and remain accountable for software correctness, security, performance, and maintainability
Continuously improve AI-assisted workflows based on measurable delivery, quality, operational, and customer outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in related, progressive software engineering roles
Experience with multiple programming languages, such as C#, Java, Groovy, Scala, Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript
Experience with tools and platforms for developing, building, testing, deploying, and monitoring software systems
Experience using modern AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and delivery workflows
Ability to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, learn continuously, and ask for help or escalate issues appropriately
Preferred: experience with high-volume, data-intensive applications
Preferred: experience building web services and distributed systems
Preferred: hands-on software troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production support experience
Preferred: familiarity with relational and non-relational databases
Preferred: knowledge of application security, observability, data privacy, and responsible software delivery
Preferred: healthcare technology industry experience
Preferred: understanding of AI governance, security, privacy, compliance, quality, and responsible-use practices
Preferred: experience with generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, or similar
U.S. work authorization allowing unrestricted work with Surescripts in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is unavailable
