About the role
- Design and own core backend architecture across multiple services
- Build and scale distributed, event-driven systems
- Establish patterns for reliability, performance, and observability
- Own major technical decisions and ensure long-term maintainability
- Architect integrations with LLM-driven components
- Work on retrieval layers, inference pipelines, and structured output flows
- Collaborate with AI engineers on evaluation, monitoring, and model integration
- Oversee backend infrastructure using AWS , Terraform, CI/CD
- Improve resilience, security, and operational excellence
- Drive observability, monitoring, and instrumentation practices
- Define and enforce code quality, architecture standards, and review practices
- Guide backend engineers through complex problem-solving and design
- Contribute to hiring, interviewing, and onboarding future team members
- Work closely with product to drive technical planning and roadmap execution
Requirements
- Extensive experience building backend systems with Node.js / TypeScript
- Strong architectural skills in distributed systems, async workflows, and service boundaries
- Deep understanding of data modeling and relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- Experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, and modern DevOps tooling
- Familiarity with AI/LLM system integration or strong motivation to learn quickly
