About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Regional Director provides long and short term support to our marinas and will be involved with varying operations roles from administration support, training, budgetary support, Sales/Marketing Support to our Marina General Manager.
- They assist the General Managers in improving the marina’s guest services level, performance, efficiency, and profitability.
- The Regional Director needs to work collaboratively with the Home Office and General Managers at each property.
- Provides the highest level of customer service in a friendly, helpful manner while accurately responding to the customers’ needs.
- Projects a professional company image through all types of interaction.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Accountable in leading the budgeting process for the assigned marinas.
- Work directly with the GM’s by developing the marinas’ operating and capital budgets.
- Monitor and advise the GM’s that they are accountable for achieving financial results; Re-forecast the assigned marinas rolling 12 income statements each quarter.
- Submit the re-forecasts to the VP of Ops;
- Identify, analyze, and present value-add projects that help grow the marinas’ income;
- Review monthly financial statements and work with assigned GM’s and Regional Controller/s to correct any errors.
- Report on all significant variances to budget to the VP of Ops;
- Ensure that there are succession plans in place for every asset for all key management positions;
- Sets high standards of performance for self and others; assumes responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks;
- Ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing solutions;
- Provides leadership and direction to all assigned General Managers within a specified region to ensure that all assigned Marinas achieve goals and objectives for gross revenue, gross operating profit, guest satisfaction, and associate satisfaction.
- Help lead the team in the development and implementation of company-wide performance strategies;
- Ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand standard initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations;
- Strives to continually improve guest and associate satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the cluster of Marinas;
- Train existing or newly recruited General Managers on all company and brand specific processes to ensure overall success;
- Ensures that General Managers are provided clear goals and objectives for every assigned property;
- Provides coaching and mentoring to General Managers to achieve all performance goals and objectives;
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government regulations including OSHA, EPA, USACE, DOL, FCC, ABC;
Requirements
What you’ll need- Five (5) years previous multi-unit management experience which included direction of employees, accounting and related budgeting activities, inventory control, advertising, and customer relations.
- General accounting knowledge and basic understanding of financial statements;
- Math computation skills;
- English language skills, written and oral;
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel;
- Ability to make independent decisions and determine appropriate course of action;
- Must be available for 24-hour telephone contact for emergency response;
- Strong ability to develop partnerships with internal clients/others;
- Good presentation, facilitation and computer skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work independently to achieve goals and targets;
- Ability to organize and prioritize work;
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department and corporate goals;
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers;
- Adaptable to a fast-paced environment;
- Self-starter;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
