About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment, job fairs, and hiring processes
  • Ensure compliance with Sunrise Hiring Standards and employment laws
  • Lead onboarding, orientation, and system access for new team members
  • Maintain HRIS, ATS, personnel files, and regulatory documentation
  • Manage unemployment and workers’ compensation claims
  • Serve as HR partner to department leaders on performance management
  • Lead employee relations matters and internal investigations
  • Drive team member engagement initiatives and action planning
  • Deliver HR systems and policy training for front-line staff
  • Maintain audit readiness and complete monthly compliance controls (MKCC)
  • Lead HR strategy and operations across multiple Sunrise communities
  • Provide on-site HR partnership across the Staten Island market and Fairfield County corridor
  • Travel regularly between communities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in HR, Business, or related field
  • 2+ years HR experience
  • Senior living or healthcare experience preferred
  • Supervisory and employee relations experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance practices
  • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • High integrity and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
