About the role

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-quality software systems
  • Own the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through deployment and support
  • Build and maintain robust backend services, APIs, and data models using best practices
  • Make and guide architectural decisions with a focus on performance, reliability, security, and maintainability
  • Write, review, test, and optimize production-ready code for complex systems
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers through reviews and collaboration
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, design, DevOps, and business teams to deliver solutions
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute thoughtfully to AI, automation, and system improvements

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience as a Python/Django engineer
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with Python and Django in production environments
  • Strong background in backend-heavy full stack development
  • Proven experience with: API design and implementation
  • Data modeling and database optimization
  • Performance tuning and system reliability
  • Testing strategies and best practices
  • Application security
  • Experience working with AWS and/or GCP
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously
