About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a senior engineer to ensure project delivery for KYTC projects, Departments of Transportation, counties, municipalities, and private development entities
- Coordinate with the design team to develop quality deliverables within established schedules and budgets
- Maintain project schedules, resource allocation, and project deliverables
- Provide QA/QC for engineering deliverables
- Assist with specifications, cost estimates, reports, and final bid packages
- Establish working relationships and interface with clients and project managers
- Train, direct, supervise, and mentor staff
- Assist with technical and cost proposals
- Provide assistance in RFP responses and strategic planning for future project pursuits
- Manage transportation studies and infrastructure design projects
- Coordinate across internal teams and subconsultants
- Support client communication and maintain project documentation
- Identify process improvement and project efficiency opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience required
- KY Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- Strong background working with KYTC and local Kentucky municipalities is desired
- Leadership, multidisciplinary coordination, and junior staff supervision/mentoring experience
- Experience managing transportation studies and infrastructure design projects
- Ability to coordinate with design teams, internal teams, and subconsultants
- Experience preparing specifications, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, technical and cost proposals, and RFP responses
- Experience interfacing with clients and project managers
- Creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach
