About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design structural systems for new construction, renovation, and rehabilitation building projects
- Perform structural engineering calculations, analyses, and code compliance reviews
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, structural reports, and supporting documentation
- Utilize Revit/AutoCAD and structural analysis software to support design and coordination
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, and other project disciplines
- Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and construction support activities
- Review design documents for quality, accuracy, and conformance to applicable codes and standards
- Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and technical coordination efforts
- Participate in client and project team meetings as needed
- Mentor entry-level engineers and designers while advancing toward project leadership responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5–10 years of structural engineering design experience for commercial, institutional, municipal, transportation, healthcare, higher education, or government facilities
- Experience designing structural systems in steel, concrete, masonry, and/or timber
- Proficiency with Revit and structural analysis software such as RAM, ETABS, RISA, or similar
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes including IBC, AISC, ACI, and ASCE standards
- Experience preparing engineering calculations and construction documents
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- EIT certification required
- PE license or active pursuit of licensure preferred
