About the role
- Provide project management and professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies, local governments, and NCDOT
- Manage design, provide senior-level functional designs, and provide QC for roadway geometry and details, drainage, work zone traffic control, pavement markings, and signing for transportation infrastructure
- Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams
- Design experience using MicroStation, Geopak, experience in Open Roads (ORD) is a plus
- Coordinate design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff
- Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
- Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Work with practice and office leadership, client development, business development and industry participation to advance your career and STV’s growth
- Facilitate and lead project meetings both within STV and with clients
- Create, maintain, and monitor scopes, fees, schedules, staffing projections, risk registers, sub agreements, QC records, deliverable submittals, and invoices
- Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and client project managers
- Mentor supporting Civil design staff
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in all technical aspects of roadway design or bridge design
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required
- NC PE license is required
- Experience in project management and design of intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities
- Experience with using Open Roads Designer is a plus
- Experience with NCDOT and other NC municipalities
- Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction
