About the role
- Develop traffic control plans for various work zones
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure compliance with design specifications
- Conduct site evaluations and assessments
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on traffic control issues
- Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) development and review (Design work zone traffic control)
- Developing and maintaining task/project schedules; construction cost estimates; tracking and managing budgets for projects; coordinating with other NCDOT divisions, as well as federal, state and local agencies;
- Conduct and manage the TMP process from beginning to end, including scope development, task initiation, schedule development, consultant management, field review/evaluation
- Attend and lead meetings
- Prepare and participate in presentations to the client team
- Proficient in engineering principles and practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 15 - 25 years' relevant experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license registered with the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors
- Previous experience in traffic control design and project management
