About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and refine 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, and cross-sections for transportation projects
Mentor and guide junior engineers in highway geometry and modeling software best practices
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, surveyors, planners, and project managers
Prepare detailed roadway, highway, and transit infrastructure plans and technical specifications
Conduct design reviews, constructability analyses, and quality control checks
Assist with project reports, client presentations, and communications
Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in OpenRoads and related tools

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field (Master’s a plus)
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Pennsylvania
Minimum 6 years of transportation engineering experience with a strong focus on roadway and geometric design
Strong proficiency in MicroStation InRoads (OpenRoads Designer experience preferred)
Experience with signing, pavement markings, and traffic control plans
Familiarity with PennDOT, AASHTO, and FHWA design standards
Experience with traffic signals and ITS (a plus)
Stormwater management and Erosion & Sedimentation Control design/permitting experience (a plus)
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Professional society involvement (a plus)
