About the role
- Providing professional design services for transportation improvement projects for the PennDOT and local County/City agencies
- Develop and refine 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, cross-sections, typical sections, superelevation data, and miscellaneous roadway detail sheets for transportation projects.
- Designing to adhere to ADA Standards
- Coordinating with the design team for developing and providing technical direction
- Coordinating with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget, and the development of specifications, cost estimates, reports and preparing final bid packages
- Assisting with the preparation of technical and cost proposals.
- Maintaining relationships with client technical staff and project managers
- Attending project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team
- Stay current with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices related to OpenRoads, applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Master’s degree in civil engineering is a plus
- Successful completion of the FE exam preferred.
- 0+ years of experience.
- PennDOT and municipal client experience is a plus
- Proficient with MicroStation and Inroads/OpenRoads modeling design software or AutoCAD
- OpenRoads Designer experience is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with AASHTO and local agency design standards is required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Professional society membership and involvement is a plus.
