About the role
- May function as Discipline Lead or Project Manager on small to large projects, responsible for the work of the technical group.
- Plan, direct, and supervise the work of a design team requiring a large-scale organization of manpower and financial accountability.
- Leads other engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Control and Improvement Process.
- Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
- Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
- Prepares material/equipment technical specifications.
- Coordinate subconsultant work as necessary.
- Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
- Help determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
- May assist with other administrative and technical duties.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements
- Extensive Hydrologic and Hydraulic Design experience on transportation Projects in the Carolinas, specifically for NCDOT and local municipalities.
- Experience successfully serving as a Discipline Lead or Project Manager on Projects of varying size and complexity.
- Experience acting as a client liaison.
- Proven track record of delivering Drainage designs for municipalities & DOT’s throughout North Carolina and/or SE region.
- Detailed understanding of typical QA/QC processes & procedures and extensive experience implementing QA/QC processes on Projects.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Accredited degree in Civil Engineering, Masters is a plus but not required.
- Minimum of 10+ years of related work experience.
- PE License Required.
