About the role
- Work on innovative projects that will shape the future of transportation
- Coordinate with an architectural/engineering team in preparing documents for projects focused on transportation
- Perform the initial design phase, detailed phases of Architectural design work
- Prepares Architectural plans, and/or supervises their execution
- Performs analysis of design and construction systems, planning studies, design layouts, and construction details
- Conducts site and construction inspections for information-gathering purposes, preparing interpretive reports
- Executes code analysis, material selections, and technical solutions
- Analyzes design and construction systems, design layouts, and construction features
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, manage, and oversee the work
Requirements
- Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred)
- Minimum of 15 years of experience as a project architect working within the rail/transit sector
- Transit Architecture design experience including station and related facilities is required
- Registered Licensed Architect in the State of New York
- Experience in the transportation sector is required
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite are required
- Experience with OpenBuildings, Rhino, 3-D Max, Sketch-up is a plus and LEED Accreditation is also a plus
- Excellent design, technical detailing, and strong presentation skills, both verbal and visual, are essential
