About the role

  • Plan, organize, and develop engineering activities for the specification, construction, and maintenance of public transit rail vehicles, including high-speed, commuter, light-rail, and subway systems.
  • Prepare and adapt drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and reports to ensure compliance with industry standards and accepted engineering practices.
  • Support testing, design, and modification activities for vehicle systems and components, applying mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles.
  • Participate as a member of client support field teams, providing technical expertise and delivering project documentation and files.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities, specify materials and equipment, and contribute recommendations for system improvements or design modifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline
  • 3–7 years of relevant experience in rail vehicle design, maintenance, or system engineering
  • Strong knowledge of transit vehicle systems, specifications, and industry standards
  • Experience preparing technical specifications, calculations, and engineering reports
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines, apply sound engineering judgment, and develop innovative approaches to technical challenges
  • Able to work independently and manage tasks and projects to drive desired outcomes.
