About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Estimating complex self-performed construction projects
  • Preparing estimates by analyzing drawings and performing quantity take-offs
  • Developing RFI’s and leveraging potential solutions
  • Sourcing material price lists and determining labor productions and costs
  • Reviewing historical data and compiling summary reports
  • Attending and leading descope meetings with building owners and clients
  • Understanding the project management and how estimates drive that process
  • Data entry, updating, and tracking opportunity updates and subcontract information

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • 3-5 years of construction estimating experience, ideally in concrete repair projects
  • Ability to work with a team to estimate projects of moderate complexity up to $1-5 Million
  • Prior experience to estimate up to 5 projects directly
  • Ability to evaluate, quantify and capture specification requirements
  • Prior experience working with terms & conditions in construction contracts
  • Strong understanding of the greater New York City construction market (DOB regulations)
  • Familiarity with New York State and New Jersey market preferred
  • Previous experience maintaining client relationships while performing light business development
  • Demonstrated construction math and computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, OST, and BlueBeam
  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Ability to travel 10-20%
  • Experience attending walkthroughs, identifying priority information, risks and opportunities
