About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, A/P, A/R, fixed assets, and accruals.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist in completing month-end close within established timelines.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements across the portfolio.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide supporting schedules as needed.
  • Manage vendor invoices, coding, and approvals; ensure timely payments (ACH, wires, bill pay platforms).
  • Review and reconcile A/P and A/R aging reports.
  • Track and reconcile capital expenditures, non-recurring operating expenses, and project spend.
  • Maintain accurate records for multiple properties and legal entities.
  • Support the Controller and Senior Director of Finance with entity-level reporting.
  • Assist with audits, tax preparation support, and compliance reporting.
  • Prepare required documentation for lenders, insurance partners, and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Help ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Contribute to process improvements across AP/AR, month-end close, and reporting workflows.
  • Support ongoing optimization of the accounting system and related tools.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in real estate, property management, hospitality, or a multi-entity environment
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement structure
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting systems; ERP exposure is a plus (Netsuite, Yardi, Sage Intacct, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently while communicating effectively in a remote environment
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
