About the role
- Lead the design, testing, and development of electrical systems and components, ensuring alignment with project specifications and standards.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts for various projects (e.g., power distribution, control systems, circuit design, etc.).
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and product managers, to integrate electrical systems into larger product designs.
- Perform simulations and analyses to verify and optimize electrical systems and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing and deployment phases, including troubleshooting and resolving electrical system issues.
- Oversee the program lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Manage project timelines, ensuring milestones are met and deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Coordinate resources, including internal teams, contractors, and third-party vendors, to ensure effective and efficient project execution.
- Monitor and report on program status, risks, and progress to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including engineering specifications, test plans, and project plans.
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the engineering team and other departments (e.g., product management, operations, quality control) to ensure seamless communication and project success.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project requirements, design objectives, and expectations.
- Ensure that engineering teams adhere to industry standards, company guidelines, and best practices in electrical engineering.
- Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure electrical systems meet performance, safety, and compliance standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis and provide corrective actions for any technical issues that arise during design, manufacturing, or deployment.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in both electrical engineering practices and program management workflows.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and industry standards in electrical engineering to ensure the team’s work remains at the forefront of innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in electrical engineering and program management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in designing and managing electrical systems for large, complex projects.
- Strong background in power distribution, control systems, circuit design, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, MATLAB, PSpice, etc.).
- Experience managing cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and quality teams.
- Strong program management skills, including risk assessment, scheduling, and budget management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., UL, IEC, NEC, etc.).
- Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies is a plus.
