About the role
- Lead Procurement in Europe (direct, indirect, transportation, CAPEX)
- Ensure continuous efficient operating of Stepan’s European businesses
- Sponsor robust category management from EU procurement team
- Ensure relevant tools are deployed & monitored to support procurement goals
- Ensure adequate EU procurement support to Regulatory/Trade compliance needs
- Support set-up and approval of procurement contracts
- Lead the European procurement team for talent selection and performance management
- Build team spirit and promote harmony
Requirements
- Ideally a master or chemical engineering degree (or directly related technical degree)
- MBA business degree preferred
- Minimum of 15 years’ of chemical industry experience (or related industry)
- At least 8 years’ experience in Procurement
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience
- Fluent in English
- Sound knowledge of the economics of the supply-side of the chemicals, indirect materials, transportation, and utilities
- Mobile, and experienced traveler
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Proven successes delivering significant savings
