About the role

  • Administer and optimize database systems on Windows and Linux using Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL
  • Install, configure, migrate, upgrade, and patch databases
  • Deploy and troubleshoot High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions
  • Work with various backup and recovery solutions and third-party database backup utilities
  • Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime
  • Implement maintenance improvements with a focus on automation
  • Perform regular database performance tuning and optimization
  • Work with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure)
  • Perform design evaluations and provide recommendations for database migration strategies to the cloud
  • Program and script using PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting languages
  • Write complex SQL queries against customer data to produce required reports
  • Design and deliver technical training courses for internal employees

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience
  • Deep expertise in database administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and automation
  • Strong background in database migration and conversion
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (system integration studies advantageous)
  • Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certification or Microsoft Certification
  • Excellent knowledge of backend database systems within enterprise architectures
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently
