About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act in conducting strategic civil and labor litigation matters
Review legal pleadings
Define and validate legal theories and arguments
Monitor significant cases
Draft responses to notifications and counter-notifications, assessing legal risk and reputational impact
Represent the company in hearings and support case management strategies
Prepare legal opinions on litigation risk, civil liability, defense strategies, liability mitigation, probability of success and provisioning
Provide legal guidance to internal departments on preventive and contentious matters
Manage and oversee external law firms, reviewing reports, validating strategies and controlling quality and technical alignment
Consolidate and prepare management and executive reports on contingencies and legal risks
Participate in defining strategies for high-impact and significant claims
Support internal and external audits related to litigation
Ensure adherence to internal governance, compliance and risk management policies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Law degree with active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB)
Postgraduate degree in Labor Law, Civil Procedure, Corporate Law or related fields is a plus
Experience in strategic civil and labor litigation
Experience managing litigation matters and external law firms
Advanced knowledge of Civil Procedure
Knowledge of Labor Law
Knowledge of civil liability and corporate law
Experience managing high-volume and/or strategic litigation portfolios
Experience reviewing legal pleadings
Experience handling hearings
Knowledge of litigation strategy
Knowledge of risk analysis and provisioning, including interface with finance/accounting
Intermediate or advanced Spanish is a plus
English is a plus
Experience in technology companies or large corporate environments is a plus
Experience in high-value strategic litigation is a plus
Experience managing large case portfolios is a plus
Experience preparing executive reports and interacting with senior leadership is a plus
Experience working in LATAM environments is a plus
