About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for proactively hunting for threats and malicious activity not detected by conventional security systems.
- Use advanced techniques and threat intelligence to identify adversaries and their TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures).
- Execute hypothesis-driven threat hunts using threat intelligence and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
- Analyze large volumes of security data (logs, network traffic, endpoints) to identify patterns and anomalies.
- Develop and refine detection queries and rules for new threats.
- Document findings, hunting techniques, and recommendations to improve the security posture.
- Collaborate with SOC and SIEM Engineering teams to implement new detections.
- Stay up to date on the latest cyber threat trends and TTPs.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in security analysis, threat detection, or incident response.
- Knowledge of Google SecOps for Threat Hunting, using UDM Search and Raw Log Scan.
- Knowledge of operating systems, networks, and communication protocols.
- Familiarity with threat intelligence concepts.
- Proficiency in query languages (SQL, KQL, Splunk SPL) and/or scripting (Python).
- Strong analytical skills and curiosity to investigate suspicious activity.
- Good communication skills to present findings and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree completed.
