About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design and implementation of high-performance services in Java (Micronaut)
Design scalable architectures using microservices, event-driven patterns and Kafka messaging
Develop rich, modern user interfaces using React + TypeScript
Design robust data models and optimize advanced queries in PostgreSQL
Define security, observability and resiliency practices on AWS
Conduct code reviews to guide best practices and disseminate standards
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and continuous improvement
Mentor developers at other levels
Influence technical decisions and architecture roadmaps

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience with Java 11+ and high-performance frameworks (Micronaut preferred)
Proficiency in React, TypeScript and modern front-end architecture
Advanced experience with Kafka (topics, partitions, consumer groups, DLQ, event-driven patterns)
Proficiency in PostgreSQL (modeling, tuning, optimization)
Strong knowledge of AWS (RDS, MSK, API Gateway; CloudFormation/Terraform is a plus)
Solid understanding of distributed architecture, integration patterns and scalability
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and infrastructure as code
Ability to lead complex technical projects
Experience with Feature Flags, DataDog, OpenTelemetry or similar (plus)
Knowledge of DDD, Event Sourcing or CQRS (plus)
Experience leading squads as a tech lead (plus)
