About the role

  • Advanced administration and lifecycle management
  • Full management of critical instances, including installation, configuration and application of Critical Patch Updates (CPU) and Release Updates (RU) with a focus on Zero Downtime
  • Multitenant architecture: administration of CDBs and PDBs (provisioning, cloning and migration)
  • Performance, tuning & troubleshooting
  • Cluster administration, instance management and troubleshooting of interconnect/Grid Infrastructure issues
  • Configuration and monitoring of Disaster Recovery environments (Physical/Logical Standby), performing switchover and failover procedures safely
  • Complex backup strategies using RMAN (incremental backups, block media recovery, instance duplication)
  • Configuration of Oracle-specific kernel parameters
  • Management of HugePages, process limits and file system optimization for databases
  • Query analysis
  • Monitoring and maintenance strategies for tables and indexes (VACUUM/ANALYZE) to prevent performance degradation and excessive disk usage
  • Implementation and tuning of PgBouncer or PgPool-II for efficient connection management

Requirements

  • Analytical ability to interpret AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) and ASH (Active Session History) to identify I/O, CPU bottlenecks or lock contention
  • Proficiency with execution plans (EXPLAIN PLAN), SQL Profiles and SQL Plan Baselines to stabilize query performance
  • Strong knowledge of the RMAN catalog and integration with storage/cloud solutions
  • Proficiency in Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management) for disk management
  • Advanced ability to read EXPLAIN ANALYZE to identify sequential scan bottlenecks (Seq Scan), inefficient indexes and statistics issues
  • Hands-on experience with clustering and automatic failover tools such as Patroni, repmgr or Stolon
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Advantage: knowledge of PL/SQL and Shell scripting
