About the role
- Analyze red team, penetration testing, and Advanced Threat findings to conduct root cause analysis
- Trace attack paths and analyze exploited vulnerabilities to understand exploitation points along the kill chain
- Determine root causes and identify technical, procedural, and behavioral gaps uncovered during testing
- Discern highest risk vulnerabilities and articulate impact to underlying systems or infrastructure
- Identify critical remediation activities for system owners or business process owners to disrupt the kill chain
- Support immediate risk reduction actions and validate remediation activities
- Participate in detection and response assessments during testing activities
- Produce risk-based reporting and contribute to management and risk committee reporting
- Document analysis results in the team’s workflow tool
- Work with the Cyber Defense Center to determine detection coverage during tests and assign findings to stakeholders
Requirements
- 5 or more years in a security engineering, security architecture, systems administration, or vulnerability assessment/testing role
- Ability to communicate technical topics surrounding vulnerabilities to a broad audience with varying technical proficiencies and at varying levels of management
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and organizational/time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to "roll up sleeves"
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across silos
- Intellectually curious and willing to research areas outside current knowledge base/skill set
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years relevant experience
- Expertise in network security architecture
- Previous experience in banking industry a plus
- Previous experience producing evidence for regulatory inquiries a plus
- Previous management experience or labor contract management experience a plus
