About the role

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of legal developments
  • Prepares materials for Board meetings—including agendas, memoranda, resolutions, draft minutes, and regulatory updates
  • Drafts Board meeting minutes and resolutions for review by senior attorneys
  • Prepares SEC filings, including annual updates to Registration Statements on Form N-1A, supplements, Form N-PX, and Form N-CSR
  • Manages compliance with corporate filing calendars and recurring Board agendas
  • Coordinates with clients, outside counsel, State Street Fund Administration, and other fund service providers concerning fund-related matters
  • Oversees special projects with clearly defined objectives and issues
  • Assists in developing training programs for paralegal staff
  • Acts as a resource for paralegals regarding legal, administrative, or operational queries
  • Reviews current processes and collaborates with senior attorneys to implement revisions in response to regulatory changes or to improve efficiencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least six years of paralegal or related management experience
  • Significant experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of daily legal administration for mutual fund clients and the 1940 Act
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management abilities
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities concurrently
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pertinent statutes and regulations
  • Exceptional organizational skills
