About the role
- Demonstrate ethical leadership and promote the highest standards of integrity, probity and corporate governance
- Drive the effective communication, implementation and compliance with accepted industry practice, company policies, statute and regulatory requirements
- Play a leading role in defining and embedding a sustainable culture of risk awareness
- Assist the Business Unit in identifying, analysing, managing and preventing risks
- Oversee the risk management infrastructure and practices consistent with regulatory expectations
- Implement the Corporate Risk Framework and related programmes within the firm
- Assist business unit in implementing effective risk management best practices
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing ongoing direction and consultative advice
- Report regularly to corporate and regional committees and legal entity Boards
- Develop effective working relationships and communications with staff
- Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor and report on adherence and consistency of strategic initiatives within board approved risk appetite framework.
Requirements
- University Degree in a relevant field such as accounting, finance or banking or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 10 years of experience in banking operation (or financial services industry or similar)
- Depositary Experience Required
- Previous experience of holding PCF 14 an advantage
- Experience operating in a highly regulated environment
- Have in depth knowledge and experience of best practice risk management methodologies and emerging practice in financial services
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships within the business units and across the corporation while maintaining a level of challenge.
