About the role

  • Demonstrate ethical leadership and promote the highest standards of integrity, probity and corporate governance
  • Drive the effective communication, implementation and compliance with accepted industry practice, company policies, statute and regulatory requirements
  • Play a leading role in defining and embedding a sustainable culture of risk awareness
  • Assist the Business Unit in identifying, analysing, managing and preventing risks
  • Oversee the risk management infrastructure and practices consistent with regulatory expectations
  • Implement the Corporate Risk Framework and related programmes within the firm
  • Assist business unit in implementing effective risk management best practices
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing ongoing direction and consultative advice
  • Report regularly to corporate and regional committees and legal entity Boards
  • Develop effective working relationships and communications with staff
  • Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and report on adherence and consistency of strategic initiatives within board approved risk appetite framework.

Requirements

  • University Degree in a relevant field such as accounting, finance or banking or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in banking operation (or financial services industry or similar)
  • Depositary Experience Required
  • Previous experience of holding PCF 14 an advantage
  • Experience operating in a highly regulated environment
  • Have in depth knowledge and experience of best practice risk management methodologies and emerging practice in financial services
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships within the business units and across the corporation while maintaining a level of challenge.
