About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Operations Finance Manager with designing standardized and improved plant accounting operations across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, capital assets, raw materials, and finished goods accounting
  • Develop consistent and improved activity-based costing metrics and cost allocations for plant performance analysis
  • Create streamlined plant financial accounting processes, reporting, and analysis
  • Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Procurement to analyze COGS drivers and profitability impacts
  • Own monthly COGS and manufacturing variance analysis, explaining deviations versus AOP and forecast
  • Support cost optimization initiatives across internal manufacturing and co-packing operations
  • Lead annual operating plan and forecasting for Operations, COGS, and manufacturing cost drivers
  • Develop driver-based models linking operational metrics and COGS components to financial outcomes
  • Participate in month-end close and follow up with Accounting and Operations teams
  • Lead monthly COGS and plant performance reviews and drive action plans for performance gaps
  • Support financial evaluation and capital planning for operational initiatives and manufacturing investments
  • Evaluate capacity, automation, co-packing, cost reduction, and make-versus-buy initiatives
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and projects supporting Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and business management decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–7+ years of experience in operations finance, cost accounting, plant finance, or a similar COGS-focused role
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field required
  • Strong understanding of cost drivers, including materials, labor, overhead, and logistics
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • SAP HANA and Power BI are a plus
  • Prior experience in Manufacturing, Food Manufacturing, Consumer Packaged Goods, or co-packing environments preferred
  • Analytical, able to multitask, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 15–20% to support plant visits, operational reviews, and cross-functional collaboration
  • US Citizenship or Green Card Holder required; no sponsorship available
