About the role
- Provide direct care and ADL support (meals, hygiene, daily routines)
- Support community outings (parks, activities, recreational engagement)
- Use behavioral support strategies and trauma-informed care
- Build a consistent, trusting relationship
- Encourage social skills, independence, and communication
- Maintain structured routines and smooth transitions
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment
- Complete documentation and daily notes
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Current full coverage auto insurance (meeting state requirements)
- Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying)
- Experience with trauma-informed care / behavioral support
- Preferred (not required): Experience as a DSP, caregiver, CNA, behavioral technician, or childcare provider
- Preferred (not required): Experience supporting individuals with I/DD, autism, or mental health needs
- Preferred (not required): CPR / First Aid certification
