About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Drive end-to-end delivery of software solutions, ensuring alignment with business priorities and technical roadmaps
Partner with Product Management, QA, and other stakeholders to define requirements, scope, and delivery timelines
Oversee design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable, high-quality applications
Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and documentation
Manage team capacity, workload distribution, and performance, including hiring and development of team members
Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing technical and delivery challenges
Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making
Drive process improvements to enhance team efficiency, delivery speed, and product quality

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of software development experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or mentoring capacity
Strong hands-on experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, or similar)
Experience building and maintaining enterprise-level, scalable applications
Experience building and scaling technology platforms within the fund of hedge funds or alternative investments space strongly preferred
Strong domain expertise in investment systems, risk platforms, data architecture, and workflow automation
Proven track record of driving operational efficiency and platform scalability within investment management environments
Professional credentials such as CFA, CAIA, or MBA are highly desirable
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern software development practices
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines preferred
Strong understanding of system design, architecture, and software engineering principles
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to balance technical contributions with people leadership responsibilities
Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
