About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements supporting SS&C Health’s business lines, including contracts with healthcare providers, payers, third party administrators, pharmacy benefit managers, pharmacy networks, and other industry partners
- Lead contract negotiations with clients, vendors, and strategic partners, covering agreements such as services, SaaS, software licensing, non-disclosure, and data privacy (including BAAs), from both provider and customer perspectives
- Support legal and contractual needs throughout the full sales cycle, including Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Provide timely, practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment
- Advise on commercial, public sector, compliance, and corporate matters while identifying opportunities to improve processes and standardize templates
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate effectively across the organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar
- 2+ years of experience drafting and negotiating high-volume commercial and transactional contracts, including services, SaaS, and software license agreements involving intellectual property and data privacy
- Working knowledge of data privacy and security requirements, including healthcare regulations such as HIPAA
- Must have experience with healthcare and pharmacy benefits management contracting
- Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, Medigap, EGWP, SNPs, PACE, CHIP, ACA, and other government sponsored health plan contracting and/or regulations is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present, advise, and collaborate across stakeholders.
