About the role
- Collaborate with business stakeholders across various departments to understand their processes, identify pain points, and gather detailed requirements for new or enhanced business applications.
- Conduct thorough analysis of existing systems and workflows to identify areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions utilizing available technologies.
- Translate complex business requirements into clear, concise, and comprehensive functional and technical specifications, user stories, and use cases.
- Partner with development teams, quality assurance teams, and project managers throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure solutions meet business needs and quality standards.
- Participate in the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of business applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Develop and execute test plans, cases, and scripts, and assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate application functionality and performance.
- Provide ongoing support, training, and documentation to end-users, ensuring effective adoption and utilization of business applications.
- Act as a subject matter expert for assigned business applications, providing guidance and support to resolve issues and optimize usage.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and application features to recommend solutions that can further enhance business capabilities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis methodologies, tools, and best practices within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Application Analyst, preferably within the financial services or FinTech industry.
- Proven experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting complex business requirements and translating them into functional specifications.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Experience with enterprise-level business applications (e.g., CRM, ERP, financial systems, portfolio management systems).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in creating flowcharts, process maps, and data models.
- Experience with SQL for data analysis and querying is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Project management experience or certifications (e.g., PMP, CSM) are a plus.
