• preparation of income tax returns, as well as accompanying information slips for private equity and hedge fund clients established primarily as trusts and limited partnerships.
• liaise directly with clients, investors, auditors and external parties regarding tax related questions/concerns and also be required to perform legislative tax research as required.
• work on additional projects such as HST/GST filings, and assist in advising clients on a variety of tax related matters.
• Prepare tax provisions and income allocations for investment funds including trusts and limited partnerships
• Review and prepare trust income tax returns and partnership income returns using tax software
• Liaise with investment fund managers and audit firms during the audit and review process
• Communicate with clients and internal parties on all tax related matters
• Assist and participate in special projects and other duties as necessary
• Stay current on changes to tax legislation and other tax compliance requirements for investment funds
