About the role

  • Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the analytics platform
  • Ensure return on product investment, market differentiation, time to value, measured user adoption (ARR / TCV)
  • Retention and expansion of existing user base (NNR, expansion revenue, retention rate)
  • Align product direction with organisational objectives, regulatory requirements, and user needs
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data, AI, and analytics to drive operational and strategic outcomes
  • Ensure the platform is secure by design, meeting requirements for classified or sensitive environments
  • Embed compliance with standards such as: ISO 27001 NIST UK GDPR / Data Protection Act
  • Work with security and assurance teams to meet accreditation requirements (e.g. secure environments, restricted networks)
  • Define and evolve analytics capabilities including: Data ingestion, integration, and governance
  • Reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics
  • AI/ML/Optimisation enablement where appropriate
  • Ensure high data quality, lineage, and auditability
  • Lead cross-functional teams (product, engineering, architecture, cyber, data)
  • Drive agile delivery at scale, balancing flexibility with governance
  • Oversee integration with enterprise systems (ERP, logistics, operational platforms)
  • Engage external stakeholders (customers, prospects, market analysts)
  • Engage senior stakeholders across business, technology, and security domains
  • Translate complex requirements into clear product priorities
  • Manage the supplier ecosystem, including SIs, SMEs, and technology partners
  • Support procurement, commercial structuring, and contract management (e.g. NEC, outcome-based contracts)
  • Navigate constraints of: Air-gapped or restricted networks
  • Limited cloud connectivity
  • Complex accreditation processes
  • Ensure platform usability and performance within these constraints
  • Support the internal staffing processes including performance management of assigned individuals
  • Encourage effective working in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture
  • Conduct performance reviews and annual appraisals for performance appraisees
  • Head and lead the entire engineering group, owns the entire organization
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs
  • Foster knowledge sharing and best practices within the consulting team
  • Stay updated on data analytics industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives
  • Participate in professional development activities, such as attending seminars or pursuing relevant certifications

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Director / Head of Product in complex, enterprise environments
  • Strong background in data platforms, analytics, or digital products
  • Experience delivering in highly regulated or secure environments (e.g. finance, government, defence, critical infrastructure)
  • Deep understanding of: Data architecture and analytics platforms
  • Cloud and/or on-premise secure environments
  • Cyber security and compliance frameworks
  • Track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and off shore teams
  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or similar)
  • Product and/or agile certifications (e.g. SAFe, Scrum) desirable
  • Security or data-related certifications advantageous
  • Experience with: AI/ML and advanced analytics platforms
  • Secure cloud (e.g. AWS/Azure in restricted environments)
  • Integration across complex supply chains or logistics systems
  • Knowledge of UK government digital standards and assurance processes
  • Experience working under structured contract models (e.g. NEC, CCS framework-based delivery)
