About the role

  • Elicit, analyse, and refine business requirements with stakeholders and translate requirements into detailed technical specifications.
  • Produce: User stories with technical acceptance criteria
  • Functional and non-functional requirements (NFRs)
  • Ensure requirements are clear, testable, and build-ready
  • Support solution design documentation
  • Break down how requirements map to systems, components, and services.
  • Act as the translator between non-technical stakeholders and engineers to challenge ambiguity and resolve conflicting requirements.
  • Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria; support validation activities to ensure delivered solutions meet business intent and technical specifications.
  • Identify and pursue follow-on work and new business opportunities with existing and potential clients
  • Provide guidance for more junior consultants, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (2:1) or higher in Computer Science
  • 3 years + experience of working as a Technical Business Analyst
  • Understanding of system architecture (microservices, APIs, data modelling)
  • Familiarity with integration patterns (event-driven, ETL, messaging) and Cloud platforms
  • Strong problem-solving and structured thinking
  • Ability to break down complex systems into components
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business language
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops
  • Manage conflicting priorities and viewpoints
  • Competence with requirements tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
  • Understanding of end-to-end delivery lifecycles, DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong work ethic with an ability to be self-directed and be an independent contributor to the team
  • Ability to lead teams
