About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and develop high-quality software solutions supporting product and business objectives
  • Work with Principal Engineers and Architects to define and champion engineering best practices
  • Lead research activities, technical spikes and proofs of concept
  • Lead troubleshooting and issue resolution throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Deliver robust, scalable, maintainable and production-ready solutions
  • Champion TDD, BDD and automated testing practices
  • Conduct code reviews and pair programming
  • Support, coach and mentor other engineers
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers and Testers to define acceptance criteria
  • Deliver high-quality software from inception through production

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Expertise in object-oriented programming languages (Java, C#)
  • Expertise in scripting languages: Bash, Python or Ruby
  • Test-driven development practices (TDD, BDD, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proactive and results oriented
  • Experience developing using CI pipelines and modern engineering and delivery best practices is highly desirable
  • Experience developing in cloud-based infrastructure, ideally AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS and EventBridge, is desirable
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or similar work-based experience
  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, ideally with a focus on media-related projects
  • Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies
  • Experience providing coaching and mentoring
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios
  • Knowledge of software development tools and technologies
  • Flexible and curious approach
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with MAC and Windows
  • Ability to work in London/Hybrid with 1 day a week in the office
