About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and develop high-quality software solutions supporting product and business objectives
Work with Principal Engineers and Architects to define and champion engineering best practices
Lead research activities, technical spikes and proofs of concept
Lead troubleshooting and issue resolution throughout the software development lifecycle
Deliver robust, scalable, maintainable and production-ready solutions
Champion TDD, BDD and automated testing practices
Conduct code reviews and pair programming
Support, coach and mentor other engineers
Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers and Testers to define acceptance criteria
Deliver high-quality software from inception through production

Requirements

What you’ll need

Expertise in object-oriented programming languages (Java, C#)
Expertise in scripting languages: Bash, Python or Ruby
Test-driven development practices (TDD, BDD, etc.)
Excellent communication and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Proactive and results oriented
Experience developing using CI pipelines and modern engineering and delivery best practices is highly desirable
Experience developing in cloud-based infrastructure, ideally AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS and EventBridge, is desirable
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or similar work-based experience
Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, ideally with a focus on media-related projects
Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies
Experience providing coaching and mentoring
Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios
Knowledge of software development tools and technologies
Flexible and curious approach
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with MAC and Windows
Ability to work in London/Hybrid with 1 day a week in the office
