About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on a large fleet of earthmoving equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic defects on excavators, loaders, trenchers, forklifts, and other equipment
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations when performing work assignments
  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on fleet equipment
  • Make mechanical repairs after inspection and breakdown analysis
  • Record complete repair descriptions on work orders, including equipment model, serial number, and hour-meter reading
  • Lubricate moving parts and operate repaired equipment to verify conformance to specifications
  • Maintain the cleanliness and professional presentation of the service truck and personal image
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record and follow CDL-related rules and regulations
  • Travel continuously to project sites and remain at assignments for extended periods
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Technical School Certificate and 2 years of related work experience, or 5 years of related work experience
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Demonstrated history of safe, reliable work habits
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy earthmoving equipment
  • Working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel extensively, including overnight
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory
  • Ability to perform repetitive lifting, standing, kneeling, sitting, grasping, twisting, and climbing stairs/ladders for long periods
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends when required
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check and drug test
