About the role
- Develop machine learning models, statistical analyses and data solutions that support decision-making.
- Work closely with business and engineering teams to deliver value through reliable analyses and models.
- Develop and train machine learning models (classification, regression, clustering, time series).
- Perform exploratory data analysis, cleaning, transformation and dataset preparation.
- Prototype models and document hypotheses, experiments and results.
- Prepare and automate data collection and processing pipelines in collaboration with Data Engineering.
- Perform statistical validation, hyperparameter tuning and A/B testing.
- Support product and business teams with data-driven insights.
- Build dashboards and analyses using tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
- Follow best practices for code versioning and documentation.
- Ensure data quality and consistency of applied models.
- Participate in internal data communities, sharing learnings and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Chemistry; or a bachelor’s degree in any field plus a postgraduate course (specialization, master’s or doctorate) of at least 360 hours in Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Chemistry.
- DESIRED CERTIFICATION: AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty or equivalent.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate or equivalent.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate or equivalent.
- Associate Certified Analytics Professional (aCAP®) or equivalent.
- Preferred experience: 2 years in a related role as a Data Scientist, Systems Analyst or similar, working on the development of software solutions in Data Science.
- Knowledge: Techniques for handling imbalanced datasets; application of techniques such as PCA, t-SNE, SVD; Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Experience with Python and Databricks.
