About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive to job sites 50–200+ miles per day
Use computer utility maps, mapping tools, specialized locating equipment, and other location information to locate underground utilities
Locate electrical cables, gas lines, telephone lines, communication lines, and other underground utilities
Mark utility locations with paint and flags
Communicate findings and relevant information to excavation crews, personnel, or appropriate authorities
Respond to routine ticket requests, relocations, and emergency calls
Respond to after-hours emergency call-outs according to the established rotation schedule, if applicable
Work outdoors and drive daily in a field-based role

Requirements

What you’ll need

Valid driver’s license with NO restrictions
Comfortable driving long distances daily
Able to work outdoors in all weather
Able to walk 4–6 miles daily and lift up to 50 lbs
Basic computer skills
Willing to work overtime
Underground Utility Experience is preferred but not required
Utility Construction Experience is a preferred but not required
Outdoor work experience is preferred but not required
Must have a positive attitude
Must be able to use a computer
Valid driver's license in applicable state of employment
Must be able to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal work schedule
