About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect gas lines and pipes to determine the origin and severity of gas leaks
- Detect, locate, and evaluate natural gas leaks
- Report leaks to the local gas company
- Drive a company vehicle for field work
- Walk 5 or more miles per day while conducting surveys
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied environments
- Travel up to 75% of the time, including occasional weekends
- Troubleshoot technology as needed
- Adhere to safety and quality policies and procedures
- Complete classroom and/or online training and pass qualification tests
- Communicate courteously with customers and provide excellent customer service
- Observe company and client procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be flexible to travel up to 75% of the time, including occasional weekends
- Ability to fly or drive anywhere in the U.S.
- Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot technology
- Ability to drive in all-weather conditions
- Must learn training material in classroom and/or online formats and pass all qualification tests
- Able to bend, crouch, kneel, and walk several miles per day
- Able to carry a minimum of 20 lbs. of equipment
- Able to communicate effectively and courteously with customers
- Available for overtime, which may include weekends
- Comfortable using computers/technology
- Reliable personal vehicle may be required during the 4–5 week training period
