About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Inspect gas lines and pipes to determine the origin and severity of gas leaks
  • Detect, locate, and evaluate natural gas leaks
  • Report leaks to the local gas company
  • Drive a company vehicle for field work
  • Walk 5 or more miles per day while conducting surveys
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied environments
  • Travel up to 75% of the time, including occasional weekends
  • Troubleshoot technology as needed
  • Adhere to safety and quality policies and procedures
  • Complete classroom and/or online training and pass qualification tests
  • Communicate courteously with customers and provide excellent customer service
  • Observe company and client procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be flexible to travel up to 75% of the time, including occasional weekends
  • Ability to fly or drive anywhere in the U.S.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot technology
  • Ability to drive in all-weather conditions
  • Must learn training material in classroom and/or online formats and pass all qualification tests
  • Able to bend, crouch, kneel, and walk several miles per day
  • Able to carry a minimum of 20 lbs. of equipment
  • Able to communicate effectively and courteously with customers
  • Available for overtime, which may include weekends
  • Comfortable using computers/technology
  • Reliable personal vehicle may be required during the 4–5 week training period
