About the role
- This is a remote position.
- We are looking for a proactive and disciplined Scrum Master to drive Agile adoption within a Data Science team that currently has limited exposure to Agile and Scrum practices.
- The role will focus on establishing structured processes, improving team productivity, and ensuring smooth sprint execution without requiring constant supervision from leadership.
- You will work closely with a team of data scientists, bringing in best practices, enabling collaboration, and creating accountability across ceremonies and deliverables.
- This is a part-time role (approximately 10 hours per week) with working hours overlapping late evening IST (9:30 PM – 12:30 AM) to align with PT time zones.
- The engagement will start immediately, with strong potential for scope expansion based on performance and team scaling needs.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience working as a Scrum Master
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Proven ability to implement Agile practices in teams with little to no prior Scrum exposure
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, preferably including Data Science teams (preferred)
- Ability to independently drive Agile ceremonies without requiring constant oversight
- Hands-on experience managing Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, and ensuring overall sprint discipline
- Strong experience in maintaining and enforcing Jira board hygiene and workflows
- Ability to improve team productivity, accountability, and delivery timelines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal supervision
- Availability to work in overlapping US PT hours (9:30 PM – 12:30 AM IST)
- Ability to quickly understand team dynamics and implement structured processes
- Strong judgment and ownership in driving execution and team alignment
- Immediate or short notice availability preferred
