About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The SFS Systems Support Specialist provides student information analysis, development, and support for different application systems as it relates to student financial aid.
  • Duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of computer hardware and software programs, analyzing student data, and assisting users (both internal and external to SFS) with functionality/questions.
  • The SFS Systems Support Specialist serves as an additional SFS department liaison with all data systems in addressing issues involving department technical procedures as well as financial aid applications and loan applications.
  • The SFS Systems Support Specialist is responsible for data transmission between PowerFAIDS, Jenzabar, EdConnect, FPS, NSLDS, COD and other third-party systems.
  • This role includes processing aid and FAFSA information in a timely manner according to federal, state, and institutional policy and supporting SFS counselors and parents/students as needed in their loan or application process.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required
  • At least 1 year of financial aid experience is required
  • Proven customer service skills and enthusiasm for providing exceptional service to diverse populations including undergraduate and graduate students, parents, staff, faculty, and other constituencies
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Experience in multi-task and detail operations
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively towards the optimum delivery of service to students/parents
  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding student financial assistance preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly SQL, Access and Excel
