About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the commercial vehicle fleet across all areas of the business and ensure full compliance
- Build understanding of business activities to communicate core values, develop procedures, and drive expected behaviours
- Design control systems to improve efficiency
- Conduct monthly fleet inspections and planned and spot-check audits
- Maintain comprehensive, auditable inspection and compliance reports
- Establish and oversee operational procedures for industry regulations and internal policies
- Manage and maintain compliant fleet management systems
- Monitor driver hours and transport safety compliance
- Monitor transport legislation and update internal policies and procedures
- Deliver compliance briefings to key stakeholders
- Act as primary contact for external audits, including DVSA requests and prohibition notices
- Resolve associated regulatory penalties
- Analyse driver and vehicle performance data to identify trends, mitigate risks, and provide leadership insights
Requirements
What you’ll need- Water Hygiene Qualification desirable
- Qualification in compliance regarding the management of a fleet
- Expert knowledge of relevant industry legislation and regulatory frameworks, including DVSA and tachograph rules
- Strong influencing and communication skills for conveying technical compliance updates to diverse stakeholders
- Proven track record in change management and implementing scalable control systems
- Analytical mindset and exceptional attention to detail for auditing, reporting, and policy maintenance
- Proactive problem-solving abilities to identify and mitigate compliance risks
- Proven experience managing regulatory compliance for commercial fleet operations
- Experience overseeing periodic audits and comprehensive record-keeping
- Experience interpreting and applying DVSA, tachograph, and operator licensing legislation
- Extensive experience conducting planned and spot-check audits and producing actionable compliance reports
- Experience designing and maintaining policy frameworks compliant with evolving legal and safety standards
- Strong understanding of the water industry regulatory landscape
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Must pass background, identity, and employment referencing checks
