About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Communications & social media
  • Translating articles and informational materials from other country offices into German
  • Creating visuals and captions for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Bluesky
  • Supporting social media management using Metricool / Hootsuite
  • Managing rescue communications and occasionally covering on-call duties (off-hours/weekends)
  • Exchange and collaboration within the international network
  • Monitoring and analysis of current political developments in migration, civil society and Search and Rescue (SAR)
  • Preparing information for internal and external reports
  • Documenting press mentions and press releases
  • Maintaining the press distribution list
  • Sending press releases and responding to press inquiries (holiday cover)
  • Stakeholder research and support for political outreach
  • Contributing to the conceptualization and preparation of advocacy campaigns
  • Supporting the creation of website content, specialist articles and internal information documents

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Enrolled student in Political Science, Social Sciences, Communications or a related field
  • Strong interest in humanitarian issues, migration and advocacy
  • Experience in research & analysis of political topics and/or stakeholder mapping
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
  • Initial experience in press relations, social media or political communications is an advantage
  • Knowledge of CMS, social media analytics or graphic design (Canva, Webflow, Brevo) is a plus
  • Structured, independent working style and ability to work in a team
