About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Researching, analyzing and synthesizing information on current developments in politics, civil society and search and rescue (SAR)
  • Supporting advocacy work and political communication
  • Assisting with the creation of website content and internal information documents
  • Weekly press/media monitoring
  • Translating articles and informational materials from other country organizations into German
  • Conceptualizing and creating social media content
  • Providing administrative support
  • General support for special occasions such as events, campaigns or periods of increased workload

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Migration Studies, Communications and Media Studies, or a related field with a compulsory internship requirement
  • Interest in humanitarian issues and migration policy
  • Very good research and analytical skills; experience producing written content
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Experience working with social media
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
  • Commitment to the mission and values of SOS MEDITERRANEE in its European dimension
  • Advantageous: knowledge of search and rescue (SAR), maritime and international law, migration issues, the Mediterranean context, and graphic design
