About the role

  • Researching, analysing and synthesising information on current developments in politics, civil society and Search and Rescue (SAR)
  • Support in communications, including operational/mission communications
  • Assisting with the creation of website content and internal information documents
  • Weekly press monitoring
  • Translating articles and informational material from partner country organisations into German
  • Conceptualising and producing social media content
  • Support with administrative tasks
  • General assistance for special occasions such as events, campaigns or periods of increased workload

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree programme in Communications and Media Studies, Journalism, Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Migration Studies or a related field
  • Interest in humanitarian issues and migration policy
  • Strong research and analytical skills; experience in producing written content
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Affinity for social media
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
  • Alignment with the mission and values of SOS MEDITERRANEE in its European scope
  • Desirable: knowledge of search and rescue, maritime and international law, migration issues, Mediterranean context, graphic design, and proficiency in French or Italian
